Our Romanian partner announced new dates for Mastering the Music Business 2021 edition.
This is the official Press Release:
”Dear music business professionals, taking into account the current epidemiological situation in Romania, we’ve made the difficult decision to slightly postpone our conference and festival for the end of this summer, in the continued hope that we’ll be able to host in-person events as much as possible. The new dates are August 31 – September 2 2021.
May seemed like a decent window of opportunity for hosting in-person live events to some degree, with extensive health & safety measures. However, Romania seems to be slowly moving into the „third wave” of infections with SARS-COV-2, with the number of cases increasing daily. A few days ago Bucharest has re-entered the „red zone”.
This means increased restrictions: general curfew at 22:00h, clubs, bars and restaurants are closed indoors, only outdoor activity is permitted – but unfortunately this excludes events. While it is possible these restrictions be released until May, there’s really nothing certain – and we couldn’t keep organising and promoting our event with this level of uncertainty in the air. Plus, we are committed to providing a safe experience for everybody, and right now postponing MMB2021 again, as frustrating as it is, seems like the responsible thing to do.
But the silver lining is this: Vaccinations are on the rise. Country-wide we managed to vaccinate 2 million people already, and we’re proceeding at an accelerated pace with more than 50,000 vaccinations daily. Current forecasts suggest that around the end of summer we will have managed to vaccinate enough people that we should see a change in the policy for public gatherings.
We can’t be certain what shape this will take by then and what new regulations will be in place, but our strong feeling is that we stand a much better chance of really getting MMB2021 organised properly, as close as we can to our vision, in this new time frame.
