It all started 7 years ago with a guitar duo named Taavi & Paula. In the summer of 2021, we changed the name of our duo to Minimal Wind and soon after, wrote a song called “What to Make of This”. We decided to invite our schoolmates Elisabeth and Ralf to record the song with us and sent the song to Eesti Laul, the Estonian national selection for Eurovision. After lots of unexpected adventures and surprises, we ended up overall second in the show and were voted international jury favorites by a wide margin. The jury featured era-defining songwriters and artists, such as MartinSutton, Scarlet Keys, Cascada, Emily Griggs, Jonathan Perkins etc. That’s when we became known to the public in Estonia and since we were a sparkling match, we decided to form a true band, also including our close friend Velle.
Musically we mix our personalities, combining R&B-like intimacy with the raw power of stadium rock–think Ariana Grande meets Coldplay in retro vibes. Our main personal goals are to be as authentic as possible and give our best to achieve high quality. To our delight, our debut album “hi.” has been nominated as Debut Album Of The Year in Estonian Music Awards, which takes place on 26th of January, 2023. Our biggest challenge is to break out of Estonia.
