Tak Brzmi Miasto showcase Conference 2020 announced

From Krakow, Poland to the virtual public, Tak Brzmi Miasto conference: The Future, coming online on November 14-15, aims to offer artists and music professionals insights and practical tools to help them navigate the new post-Covid 19 landscape.

It won’t be a look through rose-colored glasses, yet the organizers will focus on possibilities and the bright side of the future. The music industry needs a meeting and a conversation, specific tools and discussion over the direction in which it wants to be headed. The future is not that distant, Tak Brzmi Miasto conference: The Future starts soon. On the 14th and 15th of November, specialists will lead the virtual events and workshop. Ticket sales are already on, and the number of participants is limited.

Changes in the music industry have been so fast in the last couple of years, it’s hard to keep track. The Year 2020 accelerated them incredibly or stopped completely. Most of us rack our brains trying to figure out what’s next. What could the future look like? How to survive? Or, maybe more ambitious – how to develop oneself? Independent musicians, concert promoters and managers with many years of experience are all hitting the same wall. That’s why this year’s conference Tak Brzmi Miasto: The Future focuses on new tools for the artists, best managerial practice and positive examples from our industry.

New reality – does it also mean the new music industry? Can new mean better? How will the great players deal with it – labels, producers and associations? How will an independent artist find their way in this world? Does the audience need a next free online concert? What are they willing to pay for? In the end… the artist is human too.

The program will tackle topics such as challenges and prospects of digitalisation, opportunities for earning online or tools that can be useful for that; talking about changes which should be followed, and artists who, while as unaware as everyone else, were prepared for the crisis.

The conference is about the future of an artist and a manager. Tak Brzmi Miasto is about the future of music.

The conference is accompanied by Winter Camp – a direct form of support and learning, enriched with individual consultations and workshop. Winter Camp will take place between November 11 and 13. The participants will also take part in the more widely available Tak Brzmi Miasto: The Future conference.

This year, irregularly, it’ll be a one-day-only hybrid event, on November 4th, but will still be international and reaching beyond the borders.

The organisers of BUSH have created an entertaining video series of 31 promising artists of the region, as traveling and gathering is highly limited due to the pandemic, so they cannot perform live as usual.

The trailer of the series is already available, while the full episodes will be launched at the start of the conference, on the 4th of November on BUSH’s YouTube channel, which will including some interesting trivia of the artists.

The conference and mini-showcase will be held at the famous A38 Ship in Budapest. The conference program is focusing on this hectic year of COVID-19, on changes and challenges.

The first two panels will be powered by Hub for the Exchange of Music Innovation (HEMI), Co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

Then, Entrepreneurship in Music Business, aims to clear the picture around the self-releasing artists, music business education and programmes like HEMI Music Hub, Music Competence Centre or JUMP.

Further panels will be discussing the sector’s challenges and opportunities, and of course, a listening session is also a must!

Mastering the Music Business goes online on July 29-31!

The conference makes a surprise comeback in a new format: online and with free attendance. Don’t miss it!

Good news for the music industry and beyond: the fifth edition of Mastering The Music Business, the first and largest event organized in Romania about the music industry, will take place from July 29 to July 31 in a new format. Postponed due to the pandemic and the restrictive measures adopted at the same time, MMB is coming back with an edition exclusively in the online environment, with topics adapted to the context, which will help artists and music business professional overcome this difficult period.

Anca Lupeș, the founder of the MMB conference, said : “During quarantine, music was the weapon of millions of people in the fight with fear, with panic, with monotony, with longing for loved ones. People has sung from the balcony, on the empty streets, in zoom chats, and in this way we got over the isolation more easily. But the artist community and the entire music industry is still far from recovering. Moreover, an uncertain and perhaps even more difficult period follows. That’s why we quickly regrouped and decided to make an emergency MMB edition, to define our new normality. We want to discuss, in the most honest way, about the problems that the industry is facing during this period, from the financial difficulties and limitations given by the pandemic, to the blockages of creativity and the pressure of reinvention. Let’s talk about them, but especially let’s find solutions to get out of this impasse”.

The panels, workshops and case studies within MMB will focus on the most important topics of the moment: how the industry is reorganized – both locally and internationally, how the public will change, what the authorities can do, the role of brands in industry reconstruction, financing solutions, crisis communication and many more.

Among the speakers of the edition, those who will hold presentations and will answer to participants’ questions, will be: Corinne Sadki (FR) – President of the European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE), Edy Chereji – one of the creators of Untold and Neversea festivals, Jake Beaumont Nesbitt – Policy advisor The International Music Managers Forum (IMMF), Emil Ionescu – Managing director of Best Music Live Concerts and iabilet.ro, Cristian Stan – Head of Special Events at Sublime Romania and many other artists, promoters, or representatives of record companies.

The conference will take place online, with free access, on the MMB facebook page and on the conference website. The entire program will be announced on https://masteringthemusicbusiness.ro/.

MMB Online is a cultural project funded by the Romanian Ministry of Culture. The 2020 edition is sponsored by Merlin and powered by the Hub for the Exchange of Music Innovation (HEMI), co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
