HEMI MUSIC AWARDS 2023 - PHASE 2: SELECTION PHASE

We are thrilled to announce the 9 International Finalists for the HEMI Music Awards 2023! These 9 exceptional European artists will now have access to mentoring and training activities targeted towards developing their skills and competencies in communication and revenue streams, with the aim to help propel their international career!

Embarking on this promising HEMIsphere adventure, each of the nominees earns a total prize value of € 2,000! They also will get access to the HMA touring programme including collaborations with booking managers around Europe and networking activities in the 9 HEMI partner events!

badfocus is an emerging project of a Prague-based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Prokop Korb. Despite originally coming from a jazz background, he experiments with various genres such as electronica, classical music, hip-hop, or indie pop.

Dina Jashari is a singer-songwriter and producer from Macedonia, a trail-blazing artist slowly but surely winning the hearts of Balkan audiences.

The sonic outcome of Gábor Tokár’s alter-ego Ficture is a collage of various sound sources, ranging from field recordings to analog synthesizers while keeping in mind that literally everything around us can be a potential part of music.

One of Eastern Europe’s most exciting musical exports, K not K (formally known as Karpov not Kasparov) began making music based on the rules and strategies of chess.

The mostly instrumental compositions of Klawo draw inspiration from a multitude of musical styles including funk, psychedelia, hip hop, jazz and afrobeat, with plenty of room for improvisation.

Lia Hide is a composer, singer-songwriter, arranger, producer, video editor and music educator. She holds an MMus in Songwriting (Bath Spa University), Bachelor of Arts (the American College of Greece), Licentiate in Piano Performance (Hons, Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Associate in Business Administration (the American College of Greece), and Soloist’s PerformanceDiploma in Classical Piano and Classical Singing (both with Highest Distinction & 1stPrize)

We are MAiKA, Balkan alternative dance-punk band from Serbia/Croatia/ Slovenia. Our music relies on modern beats, female punk vocals, and crazy stage energy. Combining traditional Balkan music, trumpets and accordion, with new genres (electronic, alternative dance, indie pop, punk), MAiKA creates an authentic sound.
